All tests are performed by a multidisciplinary team that is responsible for preparing and monitoring the patients, as well as examining their sleep records.
The tests are recommended for diagnosing various sleep disorders, sleep respiratory disorders, narcolepsy, other hypersomnias, parasomnias (sleepwalking, behavioral REM disorder, nightmares and night terrors), Restless Legs Syndrome, periodic limb movement, and circadian rhythm disorders.
The main symptoms related to these disorders that require tests at the Sleep Institute include excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring and respiratory arrests while sleeping, unusual sleep behavior, difficulty falling or staying asleep, and leg movement while sleeping. All tests are carried out upon a doctor’s request.
Facing the new coronavirus, Instituto do Sono has adopted several recommendations from the Brazilian Sleep Association (BSA) to reinforce the safety of our patients and personnel.
