HYBRID (SEMI-DISTANCE) COURSE – TRAINING IN SLEEP SPEECH THERAPY

The course is recommended for speech therapists and other healthcare professionals interested in treating sleep-disordered breathing. It touches on the key topics involving basic knowledge about sleep and related disorders, with a focus on pathophysiology, phenotypes, clinical symptoms, severity, criteria for the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, including practical procedures on orofacial myofunctional and motricity assessment, plus speech therapy protocols for treating sleep respiratory disorders.

Course Objectives

• To provide the student with information on the basic principles of Sleep Medicine.
• To provide the student with the tools to evaluate and treat patients suffering from sleep respiratory disorders, focusing on speech therapy, allowing the knowledge acquired in the classes to be applied in daily practice.
